The Prizing House        329 S. Church Street, Cynthiana, KY 41031        (859) 588-4722        info@ThePrizingHouse.com
The building.
This brick structure was originally built in 1917 as a tobacco prizing house. Situated
near the Licking River in Cynthiana, Kentucky, this building has also been a roller
skating rink, factory and storage space throughout the years...before being restored into
this unique event space.

The towering antique double doors that mark the entrance to The Prizing House are
sure to evoke thoughts of a grander era. These doors, crafted in 1857, were brought to
The Prizing House from an elegant Federal-style home on Pike Street in Cynthiana.
The decor.
The two massive fireplace mantels are solid walnut, crafted in the early 1800s for two
homes in Cynthiana. The rich walnut and cherry woodwork that accents the doors and
many walls in The Prizing House was salvaged from old Cynthiana buildings being
demolished.

Such details - rich in history - along with antique furnishing and attention to detail, add
to the ambiance at The Prizing House.
